ORF 6.4 – New year, new update!

The latest ORF version has been released earlier today adding complete IPv6 support to ORF, allowing it to be integrated into both IPv4 and IPv6 infrastructures, and extending the Sender Whitelist and Sender Exception lists with a new sender validation option to prevent spammers from abusing whitelist entries to circumvent filtering.

If you are interested in learning more about the changes please visit the ORF 6.4 Change Log. When you are ready to deploy the new version, download it from the Client Portal.

If you have any questions about compatibility or using ORF 6.4 in specific setups or infrastructures, please send us an email to cs@vamsoft.com and we will respond as soon as we can.

ORF 6.3 has arrived!

The latest update adds support for a wide range of archive formats, such as RAR, ARJ, Z, 7z, etc., so no archive or container remains unchecked anymore during attachment filtering. The regex engine has been upgraded too and it can now properly recognize and match Unicode characters above U+FFFF (65535). Finally, a hashing bug that prevented ORF from verifying ed25519-type (DKIM) public keys has been fixed as well – along with a bunch of other minor user interface and management tool issues.

The ORF 6.0 release is here

In case you have missed the news, ORF 6.0 was released recently with brand new features and numerous improvements. Some of the highlighted features in this release are:

  • DKIM Test
The new version supports using the DomainKeys Identified Mail (DKIM) email authentication framework for verifying the integrity of incoming emails as well as the identity of responsible senders via cryptographic signatures.
  • DMARC Test
Domain-based Message Authentication, Reporting & Conformance (DMARC), possibly the most advanced email validation system designed to combat phishing and email spoofing, is now here to help you detect and mitigate fraudulent messages.
  • Per-Test Actions
Separate filtering actions can now be specified for almost every blacklist test giving you greater control over the fate of “bad” emails.
  • Microsoft® Exchange 2019 compatibility
Exchange 2019 is now fully supported by ORF.
  • … And much more
The complete list of changes is available in the ORF Change Log.

The goal of this release was to greatly improve ORF’s email filtering capabilities and to restore trust in email communications. However, the new version brings important changes to ORF’s licensing policy as well, which you can learn more about in our related Knowledge Base article.
